A minority of my work is fired in a gas kiln that produced a reduction environment during the glaze fire.  With the reduced oxygen atmosphere inside the kiln, wild and crazy things can happen.

Most of my high-fire reduction pieces are made from porcelain.  The result is a very durable (dishwasher and food safe) clay body in which the glaze and clay fuse together.
